I haven't seen anyone here mention it but Rutland Plywood burned earlier this week, causing extensive damage, and leaving 100-200 unemployed. This will most likely have some effect on availability of Boyds stocks. I'm not trying to induce a panic but if you are looking to build a gun and stock it with laminate, perhaps a stock (and soon) should be your first purchase.

There are a couple of other US suppliers. Brookside Venners is one and then there is Cousineau Brothers off the top of my head. Still what is going to happen to pricing and availability? I'm sure the loss of 200 jobs in small town Vermont is the equivalent of a Cat 5 hurricane in the gulf states. So the state will probly assist to get them back up and going quick but your still looking at a year at least. Rutland was the biggest so it will be interesting to see how they come back. I'm sure the Chinese will be pushing to get into the market.

Lets hope they rebuild quickly and produce even more product when the get back up and running... I was at the plant back in the mid 90's, It was a huge place and if the whole place burnt to the ground it had to be one heck of a fire.
Is there any youtube videos of it burning?.. It should have been plastered on the news.. Jeff.

Most of the other makers turn out 1'X4' planks. Rutland had the equipment to do 4'X8' (closer to 5'X10) and bigger sheets
