I am going to try the reduced 4759 loads for my nieces H&R conversion and prolly try them in my Encore.. I have a full box of 200GR XTP's, 200 gr SST's and some 195 gr Barnes.. Which bullet is going to perform the best.. I have killed a ton of deer with XTP's out of inline BP but they were 45 cal 250 gr.. how will these 40 cals do?? I really like the looks of the barnes.. haven't had a chance to shoot them yet. Thanks for the help. Rob

It is hard to beat the 195 barnes bullets. With reduced loads the 200 gr. sst and the 200xtp will work fine also. I would use whichever shoots the best. If they are all the same accuracy wise, I would use the barnes.

I have tried bot the XTP and SST in my conversion with moderate loads. With reduced loads and shorter ranges for youth, I personally would use XTP. So long as you are getting minute of deer accuracy the XTP, being a pistol bullet, will give you excellent terminal performance. Higher speed and longer ranges go with the SST. I have best accuracy with the SST and next the XTP and the barnes a close 3rd. JMHO 10 ga

In my sons apex three bullets shoot good with 34g of 4759. The sst shot a little better so thats what we hunted with. All 5 deer he shot were at 70 to 80 yards with 3 pass through and 2 that destroyed both shoulders. A very tough bullet at those speeds. If your barrel is a little loose like ours (will shoot .451 bullets with no sizing) knurl your bullets.

How reduced is reduced??? seriously speed is a huge factor of a bullets performance,,, the 200xtp would be the weakest but better at 1500fps than the others
