The address that you will want to plug into your GPS is:
2180 McDowell Rd. Cynthiana, KY. 41031
Do a google earth map or map quest and make sure you are able to find this place. If you have any doubts call me ahead of time as I and probably you will not have cell service once you get close to the range. It would be a good idea to print off the directions so that if you do lose service you will still have a back-up. McDowell Rd is a small ,almost one lane, road off of US 62. If you are traveling east, It turns left just after you cross the lickin river bridge in Claysville, Ky. If you are coming in from the west it will be the last road to your right, just before you cross the river bridge. If you map quest it from the north and the directions say to come from Brooksville, Ky. you will be traveling on Hwy 19. McDowell Rd. is a mile or two past Milford, KY and will turn to the Right. Always stay to your left and the range will be about 4 miles down on the right. You will not be able to miss the range. If you do miss McDowell Rd. no worries, Keep going on HWY 19 a few more miles and you will come to a stop sign, turn right and then turn right again, almost like making a big U-turn. This is McDowell Rd and then you will find the range on the left. I will try to put up a marker at McDowell Rd. It will be a tobacco stick with yellow caution tape on it...... Check your route let me know if you have any questions.
Also for those of you who will be camping out for the weekend or for just one day. Bring everything you think you might need. Coolers and drinks will be of importance. There is a grocery store 2 miles from the shoot and they have everything you might want including cold cold drinks, hand made to order sandwiches, pizza, breakfast sandwiches and that kind of stuff. He's got just about everything except gunpowder......
I will have a hot water shower rigged up out side of the shop, just bring your own towels, soap, and some flippy flops shoes.
Any other questions just call. Thanks to all that have helped promote this. We will discuss dates on Saturday for next years event.
Jeff.

Whats a tobacco stick? Did a mapquest. Seems like a lot of turns. Probably calculated the long way around, but we will find it!

I might suggest attendees get your phone number in a PM so as not to put in public unless you want it there.

Thanks to your directions, I think I'm close. Does the photo below show the range? It's the southern 1.5 miles of McDowell Road north of Highway 62. I see an "S" curve about 3/4 miles north of Hwy 62, then I see some overhead powerlines cross the road. Is the range somewhere near those landmarks?

Those power lines run across my farm.. The big S curve I see is the river, however your picture has 100% of my farm in it. If you guys can get on McDowell rd you will find the range. Just look for 25 trucks parked in a field ,,, and if that don't work, stop and listen,, follow the gun fire..

Alabama... Follow your directions all the way through to step 24. In step 25 it tells you to turn left on Ky19, turn left on McDowell rd just before Ky19. If you go to 19 you will drive about 10 miles farther than you need to but you will still get there...
A tobacco stick looks like a four foot broom handle except it it usually square and some time made from split hickory.. Nowadays they are mostly used for tomato stakes..
The weather for the weekend is going to be sunny with a high of 82 for Saturday. Lows in the 50's at night.. Everyone please bring a cooler with drinks and a chair to sit on. Lunch will be ready around 1:00 on Saturday and for the guys coming on Friday night we will plan a big breakfast for Saturday morning for those of you who want to eat.. If we are not to stuffed from Fridays dinner.. Looking like a good time ahead.... Any questions just give me a holler.... Jeff

Jeff. Looking forward to it!!!
Will there be any wood available for a fire at night? How are the Mosquitos ?
We plan on arriving early afternoon. Unless seething changes and we get there earlier. Being such a drive unless we left the night before and motel'd it half way I see now way of getting there sooner.
Looks likes its gonna be a nice weekend.

I will be bringing 3 portable shooting benches , but will need extra chairs to use with them.

I would much prefer to shoot prone if possible, thus saving the benches for other shooters.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to imply that the trailer wouldn't be needed. I just wanted to let everyone know that there will more benches available.

Guys...
Those of you who are coming up on Friday night and plan on camping out. I need one of you to bring a wire basket to use in a boiling pot for cooking corn on the cob, potatoes, and sausage. Do any of you have a basket that would serve us for this purpose. I have the pot just not a basket. My pot is 16 inches across and 16 inches deep. We need a basket. Please let me know if any of you have one that you can bring.
I was over at the range today and got things mostly ready for the shoot. The pig is on the smoker and it will be done tomorrow afternoon sometime... Man it was smelling good a few hours ago when I left the BBQ'ers place... Good eating and lots of shooting is coming our way.
I will have a limited number of electrical outlets for those that will need to charge cell phones and what nots. Bring your own extension cords...
Jeff.

I have a aluminum turkey fryer that is about 15" tall that has a 10" diameter basket that is close to 14" tall. I can bring the whole pot if you want it. I have some cold-pack deer meat if you think we would use it.

Shrimp would go perfect with sausage, corn on the cob and potato's. It sounds like the eating will be as much fun as the shooting.

The food sounds fantastic. I announced on at least four occasions my intent to come so I apologize to Jeff and everyone for backing out. A combination of hurricane damage and an unexpected draw for an early muzzleloader elk hunt did me in. Have fun and I'm committing to next year. V
