Ran into about 10# of A2230 today and see that it is used in many rifle loads that also use 4198 and that got me to wondering if anyone has tired it in their MZ.

Off the top of my head I think it might be a spherical powder? That will be the big thing to find out before committing, size and shape.

It may work out in a duplex load! I have used H-335 (spherical) with both N-110 and 4759 as the booster. Clays could also be used. Any of the boosters which will prevent the little balls from entering the vent. It is in the range of 322, maybe a tad slower, which has worked well in duplex loadings. It is not too far from H-335 which gave me good results. Start slow and work up. Richard

Good luck with it Rick ....IMO there is just too many powders that are in our burn rate parameters that just aren't tried out or explored because of their size and shape....One member mentioned a powder recently and it was designed for benchrest shooters because it could be metered so repeatedly...the 4198s seem to work well with the .458's.....Since duplexing has proven to be temp tolerant why not explore the fine grained ,burn rate equal powders as a main.....?

Like i said I was just wondering what others thought about the stuff. I had an uncle pass away a couple months ago and I got everything in his reloading room, he had been reloading for over 50 years.
