I have done my fair share of smokeless muzzleloading both saboted and sabotless in .50 and .45 cal. but I have always shot single powder loads. Most of my shooting now days is sabotless in .45 cal and I have done a considerable amount of sizing with both smooth and most recently full form dies and I have gotten satifactory results. I thought about shooting duplex loads but never really thought it was necessary for my application since I never had an ignition issue even in our cold climate, but I decided to try duplexing with some of the powder I had at my disposal. I admit I haven't done a lot of experimenting or fine tuning and this load is the first and only load I tried today, it is 10/60 (4759/H4198) and a non modified nosler 300 gr. BT full formed to my barrel. The speeds were extremely consistent @ 2747,2738,2744 fps. I had some plastic vials that I was able to modify and produce a two compartment single vial that seems to work perfectly for duplexing. I was so impressed with my initial results, and this after approx. 6 months lapse of trigger time. I can see were a little more time might be warranted to tweak things.

Looking good! I don't shoot nothing but duplex loads unless someone wants a particular single powder load evaluated. Richard

Nice. In full formed I think the main reason to consider duplexing is for load consistency across the temp spectrum. Just added peace of mind.

If it works .... play with it some more.... My go to load ( Rempac 45 ) is 5/62.5 ( Red Dot / H4198 ) with a 327 MH ( smooth die to .4485 ) Sub MOA out to 300 yards ( that's as far as our range goes )

TG traced a 275MH 5/65 RD/H4198 load at nearly 55kpsi. You are using nearly as much powder with a bullet that is 52gr heavier. Nice shooting Paul!

Dave W. - Not sure what the pressure number is. I thought I had seen a similar load by Richard or TG , but I can't find it now.
