300 yards Last week I got lucky and shot a pretty decent "wallet" group (.733)..............but only three shots. I indicated that I would shoot the same combination again this week only putting five shots in the group to see how it fared? Well, I lied.........sort of I shot four The good news is the first three went into a .929" group. Bill and I looked at it and I said: Should I put five in or let it go? I felt like the devil was poking me with his pitch fork saying: Go ahead and shoot.........while the angel was saying: You better not! Well, I did and the fourth shot opened it up to 3.7". So, at this point, no need in wasting another precious Parker bullet as it would not make the group any smaller Note: No chronograph as it was raining! For comparison, last weeks chronographing of the same load was 2764 fps with a 21 fps ES Next, I wanted to see how the 250 SST compared with the same load (the rain had stopped). While the third shot went wide to make it a 5" group, four of them went into 2". Average velocity was 2643 fps with a 43 fps ES. It is interesting to note that the SST velocity was 31 fps slower yet printed higher on the target. In both groups, I was aiming at the bull above POI. While it appears physically that the 250 Parker would have a higher BC, the SST had less drop? I never changed my scope from last week and the groups indicated the same or similar POI. Richard
