I had Slufoot convert a H&R 45/70 t0 45 cal for me. I don't hunt where I will shoot past 150 yrd. I was looking at SPS and they had the 200 gr Nosler HP's cheap.. those with a blue harvestor sabot.. have any of you guys used these on deer?? Are the XTP's any good on deer? I have used 44 cals on deer with regular ML's. Thanks Rob

have noy used the noslers. but the xtp will work dittos here---- just don't push them over about 2200 out the muzzle as they are pistol bullets and don't really do good terminal performance at higher speeds and that can be a mess up close.

Order 195 barnes bullets from arrowhead sporting goods load 56-58grs of 4198 or 10grs 4759-50grs4198 and don't worry about the bullet not performing. Slufoot done my H&R Ultra and it loves these two loads. Good Luck

Thanks for the help.. I'm going to try some Barnes 195's.. the only deer we have lost with our ML's at our farm in the past 5 years has been with 200 gr SST's.. just kinda paranoid about them. Thanks Robbie
