Longer story shorter, I've ran out of adjustment on my VX6 3-18. I was shooting 500yds today and had it turned up to the stop, minus 1 click. I had two Champion Redfield Style Precision Sight-In Targets stapled side by side on the 4'x8' backstop, about 10" down from the top. Aiming at the top of the 4'x8' backboard, I could hear the bullets strike the board but they were all low. If I held dead on the target, the bullets evidently must have hit in the grass, as I couldn't hear them hit the board.
I'm using Warne bases and Leupold QR 30mm rings at present.
QUESTION......... What do I need to do to gain more elevation??? Can I change mounts and keep the QR rings or, do they both need to be changed? Change to what? Suggestions please..............

With my Leupold QR rings, I have those inserts also. Can the bottom front insert be removed and not put to much pressure on the scope tube?

Called Jay's Sporting Goods in Gaylord, MI this morning checking on the 20moa base. They had one in stock. I made the 2 hour trip and took the rifle with me.
Walked into Jay's and of course the first place I head it the primer shelves. HOLY SMOKES, they had a case of Federal 215M's on the rack, along with 9 single boxes. I grabbed that case of 215M's so fast, it would have made Bruce Lee proud!
Met up with Mark the firearm manager, then we went out and got the rifle. Came home with a few other accessories, a 20 moa base mounted and a case of 215M primers. A great day. Now I need it to quit raining.........
