Got one! Wonder how they handle it when your rifle is in pieces! Might not even be worth sending the trigger in. What's a x mark bring resale? $35? Thanks for the heads up.

Just GREAT My new Ultimate has that trigger. I wonder how that's going to work out, being that its just the action?

I have one in .243. I disliked the trigger so much I bought a take off Rem adjustible trigger to change out so I do not anticipate sending mine in.

Just got off the phone with Ken Johnston, concerning the trigger recall.
Ken stated that with ALL his triggers, he disassembles them, checks the sear and spring, then puts them back together. He states that the material that Remington states may cause a problem, is inspected by Ultimate Firearms and any excess is removed and cleaned when he enhances the trigger.
Ken also stated that if ANY owner of an Ultimate feels that his/her rifle should or needs to be sent back to Remington, they should do that or, contact Ken himself at (517) 349-2976.
Ken is very proud of his rifles and considers the SAFETY of his customers THE top priority. I feel assured after my conversation with Ken this morning, that my trigger has been thoroughly inspected by Ken himself.

I called earlier this morning. A fairly long wait as you might imagine. When I explained I had the Remington adjustible trigger as a takeoff he said that one was also on the recall list. Rather than go through all that I may just put on a different aftermarket trigger. In 8 years there could be well over a 100,000 Model 700s built. A lot of work.

Thanks for the info . I just purchased a Remington 700 VLS in .243 Win. to shoot a few 'chucks this Summer . It has the new X Mark Pro trigger and from the moment I opened the box , I was unhappy with the trigger . I bought a Timney trigger and brought the gun unfired to a top notch benchrest gunsmith for installation . A shooting and hunting pal says I am a " Firearms Hypochondriac ". The old 700 trigger was just fine for me . mrbuck

Great, I only have about 11 rifles and conversions with that trigger.
Not cool.

I put my serial number in on the recall page a few days ago and my wife just text me asking why ups just brought an empty remington box! Guess they really want them back, sounds expensive with all the xmark triggers out there...
