Greetings from NW Ohio. I just picked up a Savage 10 ML in order to get into muzzleloading for the next deer season. I look forward to learning a lot from your forums.
While this is my first muzzleloader, I'm experienced in pistol, shotgun, and rifle reloading. I'll definitely be looking into the loads section!

Welcome aboard. If your in the flatlands you have to be close to Jims and myself. Btw I've been told a 300gr and 4759 is a great place to start.

I'll have to pick some up tomorrow after work. How many grains do you suggest?
Right now I have some H4198 with 250gr XTPs and Harvester red cruncher sabots. The former owner used 52grs with that combo.

I have never owned a savage 50 so I'll have to double check the charge. I've just been told not to waste time under 300gr bullets and that 4759 is a performer.

Talked to my hunting buddy with the 10ml2, he is using 42.5gr sr4759 under a 300 Speer deep curl. So somewhere in the 42-43gr range might give you good results. If you find you like 4759 stock up, word is it will not be available after this year.
