Because of a family illness, I wasn't able to shoot the rifle when I picked it up. My last three days have been very busy, so about all I've done so far is just to bring it home. Tomorrow will be a little different day with much more time now that I'm home.

When are you going to let the smoke out of that rifle?

When are you going to let the smoke out of that rifle? I have to wait for the ice to melt on my range, which sucks. I tried to plow the snow around the bench and that ended up being a worthless endeavor. Then the wife decided to get the John Deere out and blow 8" away (bless her heart). There's 2" of solid ice under the snow, everywhere, which is a first that I can ever recall. Removing the snow will stop its insulation of the ice and melt it quicker. I can probably get to the backstop if I'm wearing snowshoes. Its definitely going to take a few more days before I can safely sit at the bench. We do have rain coming tonight and tomorrow, which will help eliminate that ice. There is a gun club near town, probably 25 miles and I may call them to see if its clear enough to shoot. Between the ice and mud, it may take a few days yet. However I've had plenty to keep me busy, removing all the "unnecessary" items from the shooting box, cleaning it and loading it with the new necessities. It won't be long now.....
