Just bought a Knight disc extreme from a going out of business gun shop. 45 caliber with a serial number of #002119 Blued and fluted with a black composite stock. What is the twist rate of this rifle and what is a good starting load to try? I have a couple T/C Hawkens and that is my experience with ML's. I am new to inlines. thanks

It should be 1:30 twist and you cant go wrong with 110gr of BH209 or 777 and a 200gr SST or XTP in a Harvester smooth blue sabot . If your bore is real tight you can use the Harvester crush rib sabot.

If you put a patch on a tight fitting jag, (not a spin jag) and push it to the breach plug. Next wrap a piece of tape around the cleaning rod and mark the tape at the end of the barrel, and on the top side. Slowly pull the cleaning rod out allowing it to rotate until the mark you placed on top makes a complete revolution then measure from the end of the barrel/ muzzle to the mark you made and this will give you the twist for your rifle. In slower twist barrels you can pull the cleaning rod until the line rotates one half revolution and then measure it the same way. You just have to multiply the measurement by two. I hope this helps you determine your twist! Good shooting! Dave V.

ALL Knight DICS Extreme 45s should be a 1-30 twist. ONLY some of the earlier Original DISCs are 1-20. All DISC Elite 45s should also be 1-30 twist.
90-115gr of BH209 is quite often the sweet spot. Some prefer the MMP tan if the bore is slightly larger, some will prefer the Harvester smooth blue if it is tighter. I shoot mostly Barnes 195s and Hornady 200gr SSTs but the 185gr BloodLine has also given me good results. 180gr to 200gr XTPs and 200gr Noslers also shoot very well but i use those mostly for fun.

Your Knight Disc Extreme is a 1in 30 twist. The 1 in 20 twist were in the original Disc. A couple of proven loads are 90 grains Of Blackhorn, shooting a 200 grain bloodline. 100 grains as well as 110 grains with both the 185 and 200 Bloodline shoot great.
