Ole Katie girl has a deep seated hatred for coons...lol...when she trees I will walk into the tree and shine and find the coon and tell her good job Katie girl...she will stop treeing for a moment and after I work the bolt on the rifle she will start stomping her front feet and lets out a low guttural growl knowing what is going to happen next! lol She hits them with a vengeance. She cracks me up...you would think she has Sasquatch treed! lol The following pic is from the opening night of our Indiana kill season. She treed 7 singles this night and Saturday night she treed 3 doubles and 5 singles.

Tar12
Thanks again for sharing another outdoor adventure.
That Katie girl is dynamite for sure. There is special bond that occurs when dog and owner become a team enjoying an activity together. When that happens it’s a beautiful sight to behold and experience.
Hope and wish many more adventures await you and Katie girl.

Nice picture. I love dogs and the way they are all so different. What does a good coon hide bring these days? The fur buyers are saying a avg. of $14 this year. China has bought up all reserves the last 2 years and there is a shortage going into this season. While the money helps pay for expenses I do not want to see sky high prices as it brings out the worst in people.Back in the late 70s to early 80s a road killed coon would bring $25 bucks while a quality coon hide would bring $35. Red/Grey Fox topped out around $80 during this time frame.People went nuts and would steal dogs and in one instance my walker dog Ringo treed by the road and before I could get there a shot rang out. They did not steal Ringo as he would not let a stranger catch him but they shot the coon out and took it! lol

Tar, let me know when the pups are due. I'm VERY interested in getting a couple pups or so. I've been following your posts of Katie and her exploits. What line did she get bred to? My first was a female (can't use the canine female word) Ladner BMC and she was 1st class! Would you want a deposit on 1st & 2nd choice of litter. LOL, yeah this is 1st dibbs guys! PM if ya don't want to post to open forum. Some other guys may be interested so may be able to get more than a few to come east. Slugger, if you see this I'd love to bring them west in a couple years to go for cats/bear in your country, if all works out. I love tree dogs and hounds. 10 ga
PS: tar, My nephew is at Wyoming, instead of wrestling he is on the "shooting" team. He is an Eagle Scout and named me as a "mentor" and I'm so proud. How is your boy doing, hope all well.

Tar, that's some great treeing/shooting. You must have an abundance of coons where you live. Good going to the dog as well.

We rolled out 9 to her last night and 1 to a walker pup that I am hunting for my bud. Katie girl is a accurate action packed dog. She is a lot of fun to hunt!
