Crows can almost carry them away. Foxes can almost swallow them whole. ;D

Here's my favoritie chuck recipe: Clean and wash the young chuck carefully. Salt and pepper to taste. Place the chuck on an aromatic cedar board and place in the oven for 2 hours at 350 degrees. Remove the chuck and toss in the garbage can and eat the cedar board.

Just left a message for Mac. Going to order it like this:
Top peice (that holds a spinjag) 5 1/4" - The spinjag is 2 1/8" reveal which will make this section basically the same length as the other 2 peices. Middle peice 7 1/4" Bottom peice 7 1/4" including threaded adapter end.
Total rod length of 21 7/8"
The rod will be the exact same length as the bore space from the face of the plug to the muzzle....just like the rod I now have on my original MLII. I like this finished size for hunting. I can drop the rod in the barrel and verify that it's complately empty. I can also seat a bullet using ET's very nice T-handle and have a little room left on the rod for a witness mark. At the range, I can screw on the extention that comes with the gun for cleaning.
Looking forward to a great rod that literally can fit in a pocket. This gadget could put Ozarks gun in the woods this fall! Will let you know how it looks and works after I get it. Mac didn't pick up the phone so hopefully he will return my call and I can get this thing ordered!
Update: MAC called me and we talked. Nice guy. I added his email address to Dave D's original post right under his phone #. Right now, MAC is waiting on a shipment of threaded fittings. When he gets them, turn around time will be pretty fast.

guy's, Just probably a dumb question. It looks like a handy rod for just loading, But if you like to run a patch before you reload would it not have to rely on the small bungy cord to pull it back out? Jon

:)The 3/8" diameter (0.375") will allow it's usage on 40 and larger sized MLers.

It appears Mac's ram rod will only work for loading. It will not work for cleaning where a pushing and pulling force is needed.
The rod would be good for carrying afield in the pouch while hunting where you may need to load a second shot in a hurry.

Got 2 spinjags (50 & 45) and Mac sent his rod and all went together great. He doe not have the camo any more and the new rad is heavier than the older ones. Yeah, just for loading, I have mine ready to squib, seems I can't get away from that, and load when I head out. I'll post my groundhog recipes on the heat & eat forum. Finally got a digital camera so I will try posting some pix soon. Best to all, 10 ga

:)guys this ramrod is awsome.it's a takedown in 3 pieces with a bungy running inside and when you pull it out of the sheath it snaps together(very cool super fast and easy).i've been looking for a ramrod like this for along time because i have been using screw togethers and that gets old also i have custom barrels with no improvisions for a rod and don't want to rout out my custom stocks.so pac-nor guys forget about putting in any instock rods this thing is the #$&%.take a look: anybobdy looking for one of these babys contact: Harold Mac Donald , AkA Mac 821 Staint Martin Drive V a Beach Va., 23455 757-493-7670 Mac would like orders and inquiries via email as well: His address is macandmarlv24@yahoo.comintroductory price $35 Dave D. or any one else who has purchased and used this rod.... Now that many years have pass from this Thread. I have a couple of questions. 1. How has this 3 piece Rod held up? 2. Is Mac Still doing these? I sent email no reply. 3. Do you recommend this over the 3 piece spin jag rod?

He has been defunct for years now. Luke has them in stock. There is a bungy cord that runs inside that holds them together

Hawgdaddy, I can make you one. Just let me know length, diameter (.340, .355, .390), brass or aluminum tips and what thread size you want on the tips. I can also do one-piece rods up to 44" long.

He is out of business.

Yes haven't heard from mac in a dog's age. The rod only gets used in the field and has held up well for me. I believe Luke sells a carbon copy of this made by someone else.

I try. As far as durability goes, the 3 piece rods I sell are very durable.

The rod pictured looks to be one of the early ones. The big change has been switching from using arrow shaft material to the same tubing used for tent poles. The wall thickness is twice as heavy and you end up with a tensile strength in the 100ksi range. Easton started out making arrows and has become the leader in high performance small diameter aluminum and composite tubing.
