I usually post in the smokeless savage forum. I had a Glock 22 .40 once before a Ruger p95dc and a walther p99. The Walther broke in the mechanism and they fixed it for free. I like the Glocks custom shops. I can't afford a 1911 build so WHAT should I look into, Glocks? I'm on a $7-900 budget for a fully accessorized pistol to my suiting.I'm thinking a full frame Glock in 45acp so I can chamber down to .40? Any suggestions?

I would feel just as comfortable with a revolver. I owned a SP101 Ruger I really liked.

I like the glock 20 myself for double duty self defence/ hunting gun. mine has a lone wolf barrel and Im about to build a full custom model 20 sf to hunt with.
factory glocks are lacking in the accuracy dept but parts are available to cure that problem. the 20 can be used as a .40 with an aftermarket barrel or changed to .45 with conversion parts..

I might have to get some 40/45 conversion parts for my 20's could come in handy if 10mm ammo ever runs low

I have to admit that I've never liked Glocks. Great guns, just never fit me right. I shot them quite a bit back in the late 90's. I don't remember which model we had in 45 ACP at the time, but it was the WORST! Hated that thing! It was like shooting a brick. That was quite a while back though. The 36 might be a lot better.
I haven't messed with the Glocks for years. Always stuck with a 1911. I've handled a Gen 3 model 23 recently and the grip angle was a lot better. Wouldn't mind getting a used one. Dad just got a Gen 4 23. I'm going to give it a try and see how I like it. I need to add a few 9mms to the collection for training, and a couple of 23s would fit the bill nicely. I think he gave $520 for it at a local shop.
Either way, make sure you handle one, and if possible shoot it a few times before you buy it. It sucks spending that much money on something and not liking it.
