There is a great article on the Longrangehunting.com website explaining the shooting of groups. One of the first comments there had me scratching my head but it was only common sense. www.longrangehunting.com/articles/accurate-rifle-groups-1.php"Your group will not get any tighter than the spacing between your first two shots" "This is implying that the more shots in a group virtually guarantees larger groupings. Shots number 1 and 2 with the Barnes aren't really all that far apart. #1and 2 with the other load is two overlapping holes. Some of our problem that we seem to encounter while shooting groups is actually not the fault of the load or our faulty shooting habits. It's cause lies in things such as temperature, humidity, out of round bullets, bullets that don't weight exactly the same and the inconsistent condition of the bore shot after shot. Not to mention inconsistent pressure exerted on the load by the ramrod. Five shot groups are more indicitive of how the load and rig shoot than a 3 shot group. Twenty shots would be better than five but it gets cost prohibitive at some point. Three shots making one ragged hole shot only one time isn't indicitive of how the load shoots IMO. Shoot that SST load like that three days in a row and it means something worthwhile to me. As it stands right now it only indicates something but doesn't indicate that it is reliable (yet). Of course as always......just my humble addicted opinion. Doug
