I was woundering How you all Like this Gun, I am talking about the Savage Slug Gun (20 Gauge). I would Like to Purchase 1, but after reading about the Stock, and woundering if Boyds Stocks would work also, Some one said Mcmillians has a Stock But 1 type? Also Who has the Best price on them, Can some of you Gunsmith Guys let me know if a Boyd's Custom Stocks will Work, I like the Thumbhole stock, That would Make a BadA** Gun. I have seen them in the Range of upper 5's to low as upper 4's Smoke2

I purchased the 220F for my daughter. It is the youth model, the only difference being 1 inch less length of pull vs reg model. It shoots the Remington accu tip into 1 inch at 100 yards. I have no issues with shells ejecting like some people have claimed. I would not hesitate to take this out myself. I dont plan on restocking when she gets bigger because I am 6 ft and it fits me perfectly.

One of the guys I hunt with has one and loves it now. When he got it, couldn't get it to shoot worth nuthin. I went over typical savage problems with base on lug and bottoming out screws etc... Well his 1 piece base was on the lug and 1 screw was bottomed out. Now shoots like the dream he hoped for.
AND we just made a trade (220 not involved) and he got one of my Encore conversion barrels. He saw how it shot when I beat up on his Omega and the 220 and then he had to have it. I'm changing them over to SML one at a time. 10 ga

Had one, got rid of it. Pretty nice guns and a decent choice for a slugger. It all depends on what you expect out of a slug gun as to determine how happy you will be with it. I personally didn't care for a few things about mine including accuracy so I got rid of it, but I'm not knocking them cause they are a decent slug gun overall, especially for the price of them.

I have had one for a couple years now and I love it. My boy and wife use it during shot gun season. They fight over who is going to use it first. So, my wife made me get another one. Im not sure how #2 shoots but #1 will put 3 holes touching at 100 and at 200 they are about 3"-4" for 3 shots. But you cant shoot to fast or the groups will be really big. I can shoot 2 shots touching back to back but I have to wait on the 3rd shot till the gun cools off

We have two Savage 220 and both are extremely accurate. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another.

I just bought one, went to range and sighted it in at 100yds and 200yds using a Nikon 3-9 BDC. Definitely shoots great at 100yds and about 6"-8" at 200. May have been getting hot so will try it again soon. I just shot a nice 6 point with it here in S Fl. He was chasing a doe and was moving along pretty good. I fired a warning shot when he was at 40yds, reloaded and fired at 20yds through the boiler room. I love the way it sounds and am happy with it so far. The reason I got it is for the gun season in Iowa, I'm going this December and you can only use MZ or shotgun. I think it will do the job nicely. Oh,it does have a little issue with ejection now and then.

The only ejection issue that I saw was operator error. This was due to slow cycling and "looking" at the bolt being worked. This was corrected by operating the bolt like you mean it and angling the ejection port slightly down. This was based on one gun.

Both of my 220's have the same problem with the ejection issue. But like said I just cycle it fast and it works

Tar12, I think you're right, if you turn the gun up to "see" it eject it won't or may not. If anything tilting it to the right makes better sense. I think I'm guilty of trying to "see" it. I'll be going to the range before our trip to Iowa so I will try not to look.

My 220 was guilty of the same condition. If you cycled the bolt slow and easy they wouldn't always eject, actually they hung up more times than not. Figured out if I cycled it with some authority, it'd spit em right out.

My 220 is the same cycle hard do not baby it. Mine will raghole at100 yards with the 2 3/4 remington aerotip 260 grain. Best shooting slug gun I own.

The 210F has the same issue but blade ejectors are like that if everything isn't tuned right.
