Get a book and a good powder scale. Use the receipe in the book depending on the hulls you use. Federal hulls are straight wall and WAA wads are for trpered base hulls. Read the book and don't try to make your own receipe, the pressure could be on the dangerous side. Even different wads can cause higher pressure.

Remingtonguy If you are comfortable using a computer all common loads for reloading can usually be found on websites of powder manufacturers. Here is an example below in the link. data.hodgdon.com/shotshell_load.aspJust provide/select some info for your selection and it will show you the data and requirements for the load. Ed

The online data sources do not have instructions showing newbies what is going on. The Lyman shotshell manual is good. You can learn the differences in hull designs as well as the different wad types.

You can learn the differences in hull designs as well as the different wad types. No disputing that comment as mine was only a guide for load composition. You’re right about other sources of information. But choosing a specific hull or type of wad for its design is more for an advanced user IMO seeking ultimate performance. For a beginner just wanting to start out he has a lot to learn about simple shotshell reloading. When using a specific reloader it is wise to first follow the manufacturer’s recommended instructions for guidance to get to know how to safely use this equipment. leeprecision.com/cgi-data/instruct/LA1088.pdfThen if a bushing chart did not come with his equipment the easiest course for one would be to contact the manufacturer for a copy of one.
