It WAS going to be 85* and 3 to 5 MPH out of the SSE. RIGHT
We drag the Sportsman the 119 miles 30 of which are gravel to Tiber reservoir yesterday on that assumption. As we're getting closer the clouds start to cover the sky. As we're unloading the boat the wind shifts to the NW and picks up. As we're running up the Bootlegger arm to the main lake the waves start to white cap, Dam. As we go around the Narrows the worst part of the lake we're taking waves over the bow and up on to the canvas, wipers going full blast :puke: . The wife is about to strangle me in the drivers seat and drive the boat BACK by her self :cussing: . I fought off her attack and turned a deaf ear to the verbal warnings she and the daughter-in-law where sending my way and pushed on. I hollered back " I Have the Bilge Pump on" . We finally got around the narrows and the water flattened out a lot ,much deeper, and the wind was some what blocked by the cut banks. The Anchor held so we fished there... Fished most of the day and only caught small perch and a big sucker. HUM that was worth it, right... The wind did slack off but shifted to the N which was straight at the boat ramp. I have to unload/load and back the truck/trailer by myself so it makes it a bit more challenging with the jet. I put it on the bank to go get the truck and back down,by then the boat is WAY on the bank. Had to do a bit of pushing to put the pump back in the water . I always DRIVE the boat on to the trailer in the wind I only put the back rollers in the water then when I get the bow on I have the wife back the trailer in as I drive up on it, Works. I hook the chain up and she will drive up to the top of the ramp. All is Good no harm, no foul, I do wish we would have a little better luck with the fish. This morning the wife has settled down . :applause:
Anyway a few pics...
