Was wondering if anyone has had any luck with a custom stock on a Savage 220.

I have one in a McMillan HTG (M40) stock. Hope to get it bedded and start shooting here shortly.

Wonder if a Boyds Savage long action would work? I ordered one of the thumbhole laminates for my MLII, and it fit like a charm. Would be heavy as heck, though.

I was wondering this too. I really like the gun, but the stock isnt my favorite.

I think a bit more weght would help the Sav. 220 shoot better. Maybe with less recoil the shooter would shoot better !! For me it was too ''whippy'' when I shot it . So I sold it to a pal who loved it and he went to Iowa this December and shot a 160'' buck within the first hour !!! One shot , 145yds. ,Rem. 3'' Accu-tip , high shoulder , Bang , Flop.
