This warmer weather has got some people chompin at the bit to go looking for them, far as I know FULL PULL is the only one out this early. I usually try to catch the first one off of Navarre Pier or Pensacola Beach Pier... It usually happens between March 12-20. I threw 4 ft short on the first one at Navarre last year ..into the wind I only threw 65 yds. I needed 66 for the fish to see my lure. The pompano have been biting off the beach in the holes I don't think they are moving yet.... Deadeye a 52" is at least around 60lber ...I guess that was fun... my biggest is 74lb. I'll try to post a report as much as possible ,just sharing some of my world ...We don't have IOWA bucks but we do have LARGE cobia and a Blue Marlin or two down here.......lol Greenhorn

Some guys chum for the cobia here in Chesapeake bay in summer. I prefer to check the structure and bouys and sight cast. Nothing like a 20" eel on a 3/0 circle! Biggest problem when chumming is the rockfish have taken over and are eating everything. 10

I caught a 58lber sunday at navarre pier, monday the 19th: Derrick Wall 58lb. at Pensacola pier Jeremy Hogue 54lb, Ben Arnold 36lb. Out of the Boat: Full Pull 86lb, Nothing Matters 81lband a 77lber A sailfish was spotted off of Navarre pier tuesday, A blackfin tuna was caught off of Pensacola Beach pier tuesday, also a 300-400 lb Mako shark was hooked and jumped three times about 15ft out of the water before popping the line... you never know what is going to happen fishing in the Gulf of Mexico..........also a few flying fish have been seen lately ,must be a push of Blue water that has made its way inshore, definitely a good sign....... Pompano have arrived and all of the gulf coast piers except okaloosa have caught cobia and king mackeral....... A front is coming and the Gulf is rough as a cob, fishing halted until it calms down.
