Just bought 3 boxes (60 round)
Wondering if anyone has shot this round. I plan on it for a carry round and a deer round in the event I ever actually use the pistol.
I bought enough to play with and still have a few cylinders laying around.
Anyone have any thoughts on this round?

I finally got a chance to bench test this round at camp. I set the chrony up at 10 feet away and got everything lined up so I could also shoot a group from perfect rest at 25yds.
Gun is a Ruger GP100, blue, open sights, 4 inch barrel.
I do not know what the advertised speed is with this round. From my 4" barrel, Average of 5 shots was 1220 fps. My group was about 2 inches for 5 shots centered about 1 1/2" above a 1" bullseye. OK..that's good enough for me for close range deer if I decide to use the pistol.
I then squeezed off 3 shots as best I could at an 8" paper plate at 100 yds just for the heck of it. It is so hard to focus on a small dot that far away with big fat sights on a short site radius. So I just tried to keep a consistent sight picture on the 8" plate. I was surprised with a 6" group about 6" low. 2 shots were an inch apart and 1 shot was out of the group low. I would never shoot at a deer that far but was pleased that the gun (and myself) could wring that much accuracy out of a short gun.
Then I wanted to see how that copper bullet might expand. I lined up 8 pop cans filled with water and I put small cut-offs from PT 2X6's at the end off them. I then stacked up sone fire wood around the rear of the "water trap" and shot the front end from 10 feet away. I got soaking wet. The good news was that the bullet was recovered after going into the 8th can and bouncing right back into the can after hitting the wood block butted up against it. there are 6 petals on this bullet. 3 flared perfecting and 3 didn't flare at all. The 3 that flared were all next to each other so when you looked at the bullet, it appeared that one half was perfectly flared and the other half, no expansion.
However, I do believe penetrating 24" of water is pretty good and if a deers shoulder was hit, it would probably get to the vitals. Obviously a rib shot would be cake (and preferred)

I used to Wilms, killed 8 deer with before I switched to a 44 mag years ago. I tried a few loads before settling on a 158gr JSP. This year I picked up a handi rifle in 357, plan on giving it a try sometime. Just fooling with it as a backup rifle for my crew. in case someone has gun trouble. Using same 158 JSP in it. I know Savage Shooter has killed quite a few in the past with the 357 as well.

I have killed 2 with a .357 and a heavy flat nose bullet can't remember the weight or load. Worked well, carry a 10mm now with 175grain silvertips, It works a little mo better but not much,

I have the 140 gr. and they are very accurate out or my SW 686 with a 6" barrel. I plan to use them this year on some Illinois deer. I'm also interested in hand loading them but can not seem to locate any Enforcer powder.

In 20 years I have not shot at a deer (except a few coup de graces...not my deer) with my pistol since my primary weapon is far superior. One of these days when all the planets line up and I have the chance I will try. 25 yds or less with a guaranteed shot at a doe will be the shot. Probably won"t matter if it's a 140 gr Barnes, 158 gr SP or HP, or a 125 gr gold dot at 1500 fps. Will be a lung shot and a dead deer.
