Tried something new out of my flint today. Everyone said by 209 is meant for 209 inlines. Bull! Shot 100 - 110 grs from my flint with a empty .22 shells worth of 4 f as a primer. Also found the 275 be and a black cr fit and shoot excellent from the gun. Fwiw, its a tc firestorm 50 cal 1/48 twist. Very impressed! My thoughts were to cut fouling and reduce the loading pressures which it did very well.

Interesting.
My first thought was when reading this was how you were going to get the BH209 to flash in the pan. Then I realized you were priming with 4f.
Good work. Keep me posted. I may be trying some of it out in a percussion ML I have. I have some of the old ACCU Shot Nipples that use a small rifle primer. If the back pressure is not too much It might just work.
Keep us posted. I always love to hear BH209 success stories.

Also to report minimal bore cleaning with regular hopes 9. A few patches, the touchole and lock and done. Really impressed with the accuracy too. The load seems more accurate than I can hold. On a side note my encore likes the same load with a different sabot. Every gun I have shoots the parkers great. Really happy to use them in everthing I own. Shot a doe last weekend with my smokless and the damage was unreal.

That's great to hear. BH209, even has it on their label. Use only in modern inlines, not for flintlocks. Sure would like to hear more! Have a great day! Dave

Hunted today in 20deg temp and snow. Shot a doe in the a.m. that i made a bad hit on at 100+ yds offhand and also shot to unload . No misfires... Very pleased to have no issues using by209 in my flinter.

I am semi-surprised that you are getting good stabilization with a 1:48 twist and a 275 streamlined bullet. In my 1:38 twist thunder hawk, I couldn't even think of shooting anything except short pistol bullets or I would get keyholes. However, my speed was around 1400 fps and that could be the difference.
Never owned/hunted with a flinter....must be a hoot.

Wilms, the gun shoots excellent with the parkers, 250 ftx and 300 sst. Not picky at all. The blackhorn has opened new doors for no cleaning. Once you get used to the flash going off its no big deal. Only thing is the open sights... Tough to use on the longer shots with precision.
