PN45 H4198 and 325FTX At deadeyes request, I recorded pressure traces using H4198 53gr and a Hornady 325FTX resized to .448 in. Due to recent intermittent connection failures under heavy recoil, the sensor was changed and cable and connectors between pressure sensor and hardware replaced prior to this test. This load seemed safe in my barrel under test conditions but may not be so under other conditions. Gage and Module Manufacturer = RSI USB model Trigger Sensitivity = 3, Strain Gage Voltage =4.9 Gage Factor =2.1 PSI Correction Factor: 0 Barrel Temp = 67-68 degrees F. measured at the sensor (IR). Rifle Stand: Caldwell Lead Sled Altitude: 450 ft Chronograph: Chrony Alpha Model 8 ft from muzzle. (8 fps added to all recorded velocities to correct for distance of chrony from muzzle.) Barrel Type: PacNor .45 Cal Muzzleloader Barrel OD = 1.06 in Barrel ID = .452 Breech Plug:Savage Std. (screw-in ventliner) ventliner orifice .032 in. Sensor dist fm BP=1.1in. I see that you use the wool wads and not the fiber cards...any reason? I felt that the wool did not contain the pressure long enough for a good seal.....but that is just me edge.

Only because that is what I believe deadeye was using with the 325be.Do you have a preference? TGinPA

Sometime if you get a load that is consistent it would be interesting to see what difference it makes. With my PVC sabots it does matter, but I don't contend that the Fiber cards are better for everyone.....but they are for me edge.

thx tg & edge,i only used the wool because of my very accurate 275be loads, i did not like the loading feel on the fiber(prior) but i could! ;D ;D ;D, i have a 1k supply & would be very glad to send tg some if you think they will help nailing this down.
this 53.0-h4198/325be was the load i took out to 525yds & failed @650yds// thought this trace w/ faster powder would be helpful to look @ also.
