Weather today was mostly sunny ranging from the low 30's to mid 60's. A little breeze was blowing, but not bad at 100 yds where all of todays shooting took place. A few more friends at the range today so a little more shooting the bull took place ;D Targets #1 and #6 were both 15/55 duplex loads with the 230 gr. XTP which was slightly pointed and a BB added to the nose. #1 used 5744/H-322 while #2 used N-110/H-322. Average velocity was about 100 fps faster using N-110. Accuracy on both was about the same. My rifle is sighted in to be about dead on using the main cross hairs with the 2900 fps 200 gr. bullets. Both these loads shoot considerably low. With target #1 I used the second stadia line and the group still hit about 5" low. With group #6 I used the first stadia line and it hit 6" low. Groups 2, 3, 4 and 5 were all shot with the same duplex: 8/62--- N-110/N-120. As you can see, group #2 was shot with the 200 gr. XTP, #3 with the 200 gr. SST and #4 with the 195 Barnes all saboted. #5 was shot the the 200 gr. FTX sabot less. The FTX shot the worst of the four. Note how the XTP's and the Barnes averaged the same velocity? The SST's were slightly faster? And, I don't believe BC at ten feet from the chronograph has anything to do with it??? All in all, not a bad day but nothing exceptional. I think I will try 10/60 ---- N-110/N-120 next week. Richard

Sounds like a fun day with additional shooters on hand. What still surprises me and have seen in the past with your results is the 200XTP grouping better than the 200SST. I would expect that the results should be the other way around. As always enjoy following your reports.
